TWOT: The Fourth Age

Character Sheet

===============================

Section 1: Character description

Name:  Jorrek “Cauthon” Abell

Age:  28

 Hair:  dark brown

Eyes: brown

Height: 6’1”

Other physical attributes (include style of dress, build, etc.):  Jorrek is typically clothed in the standard uniform of the al’sei’caar.  The greens and browns of the uniform blend in with wilderness surroundings nearly as well as a warder’s color-shifting cloak.  The al’sei’caar also wear leather gauntlets and greaves for added protection beneath their darkly colored cloaks.  In addition, ever since he was a boy, Jorrek has worn a black kerchief tied about his neck covering a special amulet.

Gifts (channeling, wolfkin, etc.):  memory fragments from past lives

Personality:  Jorrek was a hellion in his youth.  As young lordlings, he and his twin brother Endar were often getting into trouble along with their pal Mia al’Seen.  Now that he is older and has found a place within al’sei’caar he is *slightly* more reserved.  His favorite things in order of importance are women, gambling, and keeping his head attached to his body.

Power:  n/a

History:  When the children of General Matrim Cauthon and Empress Tuon Athaem Kore Paendrag disappeared at the dawn of the Fourth Age they were given refuge by the aging King Aybara in the land of New Manetheren.  The king gave them a title and a new name.  For generations, House Abell prospered and is now second only to House Aybara in New Manetheren.  Over that span, the descendants of Mat and Tuon lived in secrecy fearful of waves of Seanchan assassins.

Jorrek is the eldest son Lord Abell, but barely.  Growing up, the twins Jorrek and Endar were often inseparable along with their companion – Mia al’Seen.  Their exploits were legendary within the courts of New Manetheren and some of the seedier locales within the country.  As the three entered adolescence, both Mia and Endar learned they were wolfkin.  The fact Jorrek was different did little to stifle their camaraderie.  Mia ultimately chose to follow in her father’s footsteps as a Royal Marine.  When Endar joined the al’sei’caar, Jorrek surprised a lot of people by choosing to enlist as well.  Jorrek’s instinct for strategy made up for his lack of wolfsense and he thrived, earning the rank of Squad Commander at a young age.  Endar’s mind for strategy was close behind his brother’s and he was promoted as well.

While on assignment in Mayene, Endar met Berelain, the First of Mayene, and ultimately became her consort.  Despite the difference in age, they are very happy together.   Jorrek and Mia had a brief relationship but they were too similar and their romantic relationship did not last.  They are still great friends and occasionally more.

Weapons (swords, knives, etc.):  Jorrek is skilled in a variety of weapons from the commonplace – longbows, swords, and daggers – to the more exotic.  He does not consider himself an expert; however, he has faced blademasters before and managed to keep his scalp.  In addition, Jorrek inherited a silver foxhead medallion; a ter’angreal which protects him from the One Power.

Organization/affiliation/status/light or Darkfriend:  Ducal heir to the high seat of House Abell of New Manetheren, Squad Commander of the al’sei’caar.

Skills (hunting/tracking, blademaster, etc.):  Growing up the son of a mountain lord, he learned an assortment of skills, such as acrobatics, hunting, tracking, horse-trading, and a variety of languages.  In addition, in his wild youth he picked up some additional skills such as demolitions and negotiation.  Its been said he could sell water to the Sea Folk, or talk down a jealous husband.

As a strategist, Jorrek is second to none.  Although he does not possess the senses of wolfkin, he has excelled within al’sei’caar through skill, determination, and a willingness to take chances.  His inability to wolfspeak with his men is no longer seen as an impediment to his command.  At first, Jorrek relied on handspeak to communicate with his men.  Eventually that became largely unnecessary as the men began to trust Jorrek and understand his methods.

Warders/companions/pets:  Endar (brother), Mia (friend)
