Name: Faia Mantear (“fie-eh, man-teer”)

Age: 42 (looks around 20 due to the slowing)

Hair: Red, wavy and waist-length

Eyes: Forest green with gold specks, though from a distance they look black

Height: 5’1” (but somehow looks taller)

Other physical attributes (include style of dress, build, etc.):  Thin, but still curvy. She is more muscular than other women her size. Dresses in Asha’man black…fitted black pants, black knee-high boots, fitted shirt, and a sometimes a cloak. Very rarely wears a dress.

Gifts (channeling, wolfkin, etc.):  Female channeler

Personality: Faia is friendly and fun loving, but quick-tempered. Thankfully, she gets over her anger as quickly as it comes. She is loyal to those she cares for, sometimes to a fault. She tends to be more than a little impulsive and often gets herself into trouble because of it. When she isn’t on an assignment for the Black Tower, she can usually be found at the Black Tower training.

Her favorite leisure activities are, in no particular order, drinking, gambling, fighting, and flirting. With the exception of a few female Asha’man, she does not usually get along with women. She curses like a drunken Illianer sailor.

Power Strength: 9.5 (Demandred/Lanfear strength, only slightly weaker than Rand/Ishamael). Though Faia, a Dreamwalker, has no particular power specialization, she is very strong in the One Power and an excellent fighter. Because her strength lies in Earth and Fire (rather than Water and Air like most women), she has a knack for destructive weaves. She cannot, however, Heal at all…not even a bruise. Any time she tries a Healing weave, it mutates into a weave that causes illness and sometimes death.

History:  The only child of Asha’man Paitar Mantear and his wife, Moncha, Faia was born with the spark. Not wanting her to injure herself or to develop a block, Paitar entered her into Asha’man training early. A master of armed combat, he began training her to use weapons when she was a small child.

Strong in the One Power, Faia is also a Dreamwalker. Unfortunately, there was no one at the Black Tower to train her. Regardless, she tried to learn as much as she could from books written in the Third Age, then decided to go into Tel’aran’rhiod alone to gain experience. The first night she went in at will, she was nearly killed by an unseen attacker. Had it not been for a strange man knocking her out of the way, an arrow would have gone through her back. The man introduced himself as Locke and informed her she needed training if she intended to continue visiting the World of Dreams. When she told him of her situation, he agreed to train her.

They met every third night for over a year and he taught her all that he knew of Tel’aran’rhiod. She learned during their sessions that he was tied to the Wheel and remains in Tel’aran’rhiod, waiting to be reborn into the real world. He refused to tell her anything of his past lives or the name he was known by, but discusses almost anything else with her. Though her training is complete, they still meet in the World of Dreams at least twice a week.

Weapons (swords, knives, etc.): A sword; several hidden knives

Organization/affiliation/status/light or Darkfriend: Asha’man; for the side of the Light

Skills (hunting/tracking, blademaster, etc.): Blademaster; very skilled with knives, both throwing and close combat; she has recently become skilled at unarmed combat, and though her moves are very basic, they are quite deadly.

Family: Paitar and Moncha (her parents). Paitar retired from the Black Tower two years earlier so he could spend time alone with his wife. The two of them now live in a small town outside of Caemlyn in Andor, but they visit Faia often.

Companions: Varick and Nezdin, two Asha’man, are her two best friends and the three of them usually accompany each other on missions for the Black Tower. Varek is quite a bit older than Faia (though he doesn’t look it because of the slowing) while Nezdin is a few years younger. Varick is a Healer. In Tel’aran’rhiod, she passes time with Locke.
