Name: Eldenir Mandragoran
Hair: black mop, bangs flow over his eyes; he no longer braids it according to Malkieri fashion
Other physical attributes (include style of dress, build, etc.): Kinda muscular; stony features have softened somewhat (lots of practice) so he can blend in better with other people; an angular jaw he tries to smooth with stubble that might someday be a beard; high cheekbones; a little pale-skinned. Eldenir tends to wear common wool clothing to blend in most places, but he keeps a very strong chainmail under his tunic. You know, just in case. He also carries a pair of steel gauntlets for sticky situations.
Gifts (channeling, wolfkin, etc.): no particular gift except a knack for sneaking about and fighting
Personality: Eldenir is a pretty care-free individual since shirking his duties as a member of the royal house of Malkier, though he still nurses somewhat of a grudge against his family for their stiff-necked ways about duty and honor. (Such crap!) These days, he's mostly a hedonist that pursues his own desires, taking what he wants, going where the wind blows, and giving allegiance to no one...except a pretty face. He also has a nagging habit of helping out people in dire need.
Power Strength: is negative 5 a possibility? (seriously...0)
History: Eldenir is the son of Kaelan Mandragoran, the youngest of the previous generation. He was raised to take his father's place someday as a Battle Lord of Malkier, but training (and his unbelievably spoiled cousin Nyx) proved to be too much. The family fawned over even her mischievous endeavors but came down very hard on him when he did something similar (or worse.)
After training to become a Blademaster, he decided it was time to carve out his own path. He raided his uncle's private stores and took what he liked, then left Malkier to seek happiness.
When they were growing up, he often competed with Nyx for who could cause the most trouble without being caught. The practice made Eldenir very very good at running around unseen and pulling off various capers, but whenever he was caught by his father or uncle Blen, it went very bad for him. His resentment against his family grew, not only because of Nyx but primarily because of the ethical training he was indoctrinated with. Eldenir loved his personal freedom too much to devote himself to any ideal or even group of people he didn't even know. Being a free spirit was much more appealing.
That was five years ago. In the time since, he's made a small fortune stealing items of various importance and value. On occasion he's stolen under contract, but he mostly does so for himself. Though he's a thief by trade, these days Eldenir only does so when he's running low on funds. His biggest find, however, came when he met a naive young Aes Sedai novice whose particular skill was making ter'angreal. After perusing what she'd made, he settled on one that seemed to block the One Power, designed as a ring. He "borrowed" it from her and disappeared shortly thereafter.
Weapons (swords, knives, etc.): a heron-mark broadsword he took from his uncle, the King al'Aric Mandragoran. He felt he deserved it after the horrid training he underwent to become a Blademaster. He has a knife, but he uses it mostly for carving fruit. Eldenir also carries four revolvers (gotta love Cairhien), two in shoulder holsters, one at the waist, and one he's still trying to figure out to keep at his wrist.
Organization/affiliation/status/light or darkfriend: He's king, queen, and treasurer of the little-known "Nation of Eldenir"
Skills (hunting/tracking, blademaster, etc.): Blademaster...sorta. His skills run more along thievery, flimflamming, wenching, and drinking. He's okay with a bow, but why use an arrow when a bullet is much better?
Warders/companions/pets: He has a pet chipmunk. Seriously. Oh yeah, and he has a brown horsey named Nyx...in "honor" of his brat cousin.
Would you be willing to kill this character off should the storyline dictate it? Not until I develop a second character.
Other character-related desires (including more strength in the One Power): None...
