TWOT: The Fourth Age

Character Sheet

===============================

Section 1: Character description

Name: Alekhz Damodred

Age: 331

Hair: short cropped, dark brown, and spiky

Eyes: brown

Height: 6'3"

Other physical attributes (include style of dress, build, etc.): Solid and well-built; he maintains a steady five o’clock shadow but no more and no less; he has angular features similar to a Malkieri, but strangely enough he hails from Seanchan; Alekhz always wears black slacks but rotates between a brilliant white shirt or a deep black shirt with a matching leather jacket.

Gifts (channeling, wolfkin, etc.): he’s adept at all known weaves (as well as a some off the books), but he’s master at none of them

Personality: Alekhz is as arrogant as they come.  The only good thing is that he keeps it well reined in, so that the only thing people see is a great deal of self-confidence.  He is descended from a noble family that has seen better times and feels slighted by that.  Anyone not noble-born is beneath him and should know their place.  On the plus side, he is a man of honor and his loyalty is unshakeable.

Power Strength: 9.5

History: Born in Seanchan centuries ago, he’s the result of a failed attempt by House Damodred to regain some of its lost glory through a union with Seanchan nobility.  His father underestimated the weakening effect the Seanchan civil wars had on its ruling families.  The marriage accomplished nothing for Damodred, and he soon abandoned Alekhz and his mother to fend for themselves and returned alone to Cairhien.

The prejudice and hate against channelers remains as fierce as ever in Seanchan, and for male channelers it’s equivalent to a death sentence.  Alekhz had to grow up quick.  His mother died in the ensuing wars, and it was during this time of chaos that Alekhz learned he could channel.  Soon he became a hunted man and was forced to flee at the age of sixteen.  Taking what riches he could (which was a lot), he sailed on an Atha’an Miere vessel to Illian.

For a while he considered going to his father in Cairhien, but Alekhz decided he could do better on his own.  House Damodred was weak, and his father had left them to die.  Alekhz decided if he ever found his father, he might kill him.  It was time to break with his past and start anew.  He gave up the surname Damodred until he could find a time to suit him; he also let his hair grow out some.  He would become his own man.  Alekhz spent a few years in the Illianer army, learning the art of war, before moving on the New Manetheren.  By this time, he’d gained reasonable control over his power and was using it with some consistency.  But finally he ran afoul of a group of Asha’man and might have been killed if one hadn’t seen his potential to become a great Asha’man and sent him away to train at the Black Tower.

After only a few years, he was raised to full Asha’man; it was time to take care of unfinished business.  Alekhz finally traveled to Cairhien to track down his father.  House Damodred still clung stubbornly to the old ways, refusing to embrace the rising technologies.  The damage had been done long before he was born, though, with House al’Thor having seized the throne centuries before and stripping Damodred of its rightful place.  Alekhz “deposed” his father and threw his fortune into supporting the scientific movement.  House Damodred grew in stature once again.  After securing his family’s new power, Alekhz led a small force back to Seanchan, where he put down one rebellion after another his own way, refusing to work with the Reavers; it led to more than one “clash” with them.  Unfortunately, the situation in his homeland remained as hopeless as ever, and he returned to Cairhien after only twenty years.

By that time, House Damodred was in a position for the throne.  Now it only needed a suitable heir.  For a time, Alekhz considered it himself, but new laws restricted channeling within the city.  So Alekhz provided an heir with his own seed; making sure his future was safe, he returned to the Black Tower.  In the time since, he’s developed a reputation for being ruthless with his enemies and is a bit stand-offish with everyone else.  He led a group of Dedicated (as part of training) to put down an Andoran attempt to forcibly reclaim lost territory from New Manetheren.  He even went to Caemlyn itself and “convinced” the Queen of her folly.  Andor didn’t try again for more than a hundred years and then only weakly.

Alekhz has also led several forays to the Blight in a vain attempt to cleanse it of every last Trolloc and Myrdraal.  It remains hopeless, however.  They continue to breed faster than they can be destroyed.  Now he spends most of his days in the Black Tower, investing much of his time in discovering a way to eradicate Machin Shin.

Weapons (swords, knives, etc.): When he was younger, Alekhz trained in Malkier to become a true Blademaster.  Since then, he’s added firearms to his repertoire of combat expertise.  He rarely carries a sword, however, preferring to hide away an array of knives.  He also owns a high-powered rifle but doesn’t bring it out except for special occasions, but he’s always armed with a revolver across the waist.

Organization/affiliation/status/light or darkfriend: Black Tower, the Light, truth, justice, blah blah blah

Skills (hunting/tracking, blademaster, etc.): He’s a Blademaster...yay.  He’s also quite a good hunter of exotic game.  He likes to use the OP to boost his marksmanship.

Warders/companions/pets: uhh...he’s not a big fan of pets

Would you be willing to kill this character off should the storyline dictate it? Not for a while
