Tangled Threads

Have you ever wanted to step into the shoes of one of the characters in Robert Jordan's 'Wheel of Time'? Have you ever wished you could control the fate of the complex world RJ created? Well, now is your chance. Picking up right where Book 10, Crossroads of Twilight, left off, this RPG focuses on the characters Robert Jordan created and allows you to help alter their destinies.

Where the world stands now...

At the Pendaloan estate in eastern Tear, Rand al'Thor is recuperating from his latest accomplishment - healing saidin. With the help of his long-time friend Nynaeve al'Meara, he was able to clean the taint from the male half of the True Source so male channelers no longer have to worry about going mad. But this impressive feat has not earned the Dragon Reborn even the slightest respite...the world around him continues to grow more tumultuous.

High Lady Suroth, a ranking Seanchan noble, sent word through Logain Ablar, Davram Bashere, and Loial that Rand must meet with the Daughter of the Nine Moons before a peace treaty will be negotiated. While on the surface this appears to be a reasonable request, the meeting is likely to be a trap, one of which Rand, at the moment, is not aware.

Meanwhile, the Stone of Tear is under siege by rebels who want Rand out of Tear altogether. Lord Darlin, who is ruling Tear as Rand's steward, is doing his best to fend off the attack while several Aes Sedai, who have sworn fealty to Rand, are acting on his behalf in an effort to negotiate peace. Thankfully, the effort appears to be productive.

There is much that lies on Rand's shoulders and he realizes there is much he has to accomplish before Tarmon Gai'don. There are enemies and problems at every turn - the Seanchan, Darkfriends, the Borderland leaders (along with their army and thirteen Aes Sedai, who most certainly have their own agenda), and, of course, the Forsaken, are of the utmost concern to Rand, but he must also deal with Taim...the leader of the Black Tower who wants Rand dead.

With all Rand has to face, he still thinks of his friends often. Little does he know about the challenges they themselves are facing. Perrin, on a quest for Rand to capture Masema, is now on a personal mission to rescue his wife, Faile, from the Shaido. Mat, on the run from the Seanchan, has kidnapped the Daughter of the Nine Moons - the woman he is destined to marry. Elayne, fighting for the throne to Andor, is under siege from nobles who have their own ideas about who should be queen. And finally, Egwene, while attempting to find a creative way to starve the people out of Tar Valon, and thereby the White Tower as well, has been captured by an unknown group of female channelers.

Though he is concerned about the fate of his friends, however, Rand knows he has no choice but to focus on his own challenges and leave his friends to their own devices. While his friends are important to him, it is Rand who controls the fate of the world. It is he who must find a way to pull the world together to fight against the Shadow. Otherwise, all will be lost and the Dark One will rule the world.

A Final Note

Unlike many other WOT RPG's, this one allows you to choose and play one or more characters from the books. In fact, in the beginning original characters will not be allowed, mainly because of the sheer number of characters RJ has created himself and made crucial to the plotline. After the herd is thinned a bit, original characters will be more than welcome (as long as the rules for character creation are followed). Please refer to the rules before choosing a character.
