Perrin's group


Perrin, on a mission from Rand to capture Masema (aka, the Prophet), is now trying to get his wife back from the Shaido Aiel. He has a great number of people accompanying him, but he is quickly losing his mind without his wife. He is determined to rescue her at all costs, whether those with him like it or not. Perrin's group includes: Perrin's allies, Berelain and her entourage, Cha Faile, Morgase's party, Ghealdan representatives, and Masema and his followers

These are the few people with Rand that he can trust...his friends and confidantes, as well as allies whom share his purpose. He has their loyalty and support.

Briain A Maiden of the Spear. She is young and has a round face. Sulin, Briain, Elienda and the other Maidens return to camp with the three Warders. Sulin reports that Faile and the others were taken as gai'shain by the Shaido. (WH,Ch6)
Carelle An Aiel Wise One. She is pretty with a freckled face, fiery hair and piercing eyes. She has sharp blue eyes. Carelle, Marline and Nevarin look on with approval as Masuri inspects the Darkhound tracks. Annoura, Masuri, Carelle, Marline and Nevarin huddle together when Masema arrives. (CoT,Ch7)
Dannil Lewin A man from the Two Rivers. Cousin to Ban al'Seen. Cousin to Tell Lewin. He is thirteen. He is skinny with a thrusting nose. He is a beanpole with a Taraboner style mustache. When Perrin returns, Dannil, Sulin and Edarra report that the Maidens captured five Shaido Stone Dogs. Dannil leads Stayer away. (CoT,Ch27)
Dav Ayellin An Emond's Field boy and a friend of Mat's. He is stockier than Mat, but has the same twinkle in his dark eyes. Enticed by Perrin's stories, Dav Ayellin, Elam Dowtry and Ewin Finngar leave the Two Rivers to see the world. (LoC,Prologue)
Delora An Aiel Wise One. She has blue eyes, red-gold hair and a pinched face. Seonid, Masuri and the Wise Ones join the Two Rivers men as they all prepare to head south after Faile. (WH,Ch6)
Edarra An Aiel Wise One of the Neder Shiande. She can channel quite strongly. She is tall with smooth cheeks and blue eyes. She looks a bit older than Perrin. When Masuri and Seonid want to stay at So Habor, Perrin has to threaten them with Edarra to get them to cooperate. When Perrin returns from So Habor, Dannil, Sulin and Edarra report that the Maidens captured five Shaido Stone Dogs. (CoT,Ch27)
Elam Dowtry An Emond's Field boy and friend of Mat. He has a long nose and a cowlick. Enticed by Perrin's stories, Dav Ayellin, Elam Dowtry and Ewin Finngar leave the Two Rivers to see the world. (LoC,Prologue)
Elienda A Maiden of the Spear. She is tall with wide shoulders. Elyas and Elienda return from scouting with news that they found the Shaido. Elienda goes to report to the Wise Ones. (CoT,Ch8)
Elyas Machera, aka Long Tooth  An elderly man who is a Wolfbrother. He was once a Warder to Rina. He is lean with yellow eyes, long graying brown hair and a thick beard. He has a long knife and bow and arrows. He dresses in fur clothes with an odd, flat top round cap. After Perrin hacks one of the Shaido prisoners, he and Elyas talk about his axe. Perrin fears that he likes killing, but Elyas assures him that it is just excitement. He knows from experience. Perrin leaves the axe behind anyway. (CoT,Ch27)
Ewin Finngar A resident of Emond's Field. At the beginning of the series, he is fourteen years old. At first he is pudgy, but later he has changed so much Perrin barely recognizes him. He is much taller and lean-faced with broad shoulders and a startlingly deep voice. Enticed by Perrin's stories, Dav Ayellin, Elam Dowtry and Ewin Finngar leave the Two Rivers to see the world. Fager Neald An Asha'man soldier from Murandy. He is maybe ten years younger than Jur Grady. He affects airs and graces and wears his pitiful mustache waxed to a semblance of points. Neald weaves a gateway for them to return to the main camp. Later, he finds Perrin in the woods to tell him that the Shaido prisoners talked. (CoT,Ch27)
Falton A farrier from the Two Rivers. He is broad and stocky. He only has a fringe of white hair. Perrin orders Dannil to mobilize the Two Rivers men, the Mayeners and the Ghealdanin to go after Faile. (WH,Ch6)
Flann Barstere A young Two Rivers man from a farm up toward Watch Hill. He is lanky with a dent in his chin. The Two Rivers men accompany Perrin back to the camp. (CoT,Ch27)
Gaul An Aiel man. He is a Stone Dog of the Imran sept of the Shaarad Aiel. He is from Hot Springs Hold. He is a head taller than Perrin and is handsome in a rugged way with green eyes and long eyelashes. He is a little older than Nynaeve. He has reddish hair and green eyes.  Gaul and the Maidens still have not captured Shaido prisoners. (CoT,Ch25)
Get Ayliah A Two Rivers man. Perrin sends Jondyn Barran, Hu Marwin and Get Ayliah to track down some of the people who fled from Malden to get information about the city and the Shaido. (CoT,Ch8) They get enough information to draw Perrin a good map of the city. (CoT,Ch25)
Hu Marwin A young Two Rivers man. He lives on a farm between Emond's Field and Watch Hill. Perrin sends Jondyn Barran, Hu Marwin and Get Ayliah to track down some of the people who fled from Malden to get information about the city and the Shaido. (CoT,Ch8) They get enough information to draw Perrin a good map of the city. (CoT,Ch25)
Janina An Aiel Wise One. She has sky blue eyes. Seonid, Masuri and the Wise Ones join the Two Rivers men as they all prepare to head south after Faile. (WH,Ch6)
Jerasid A Farrier from the Two Rivers. He is broad and stocky. He is not yet in his middle years. Perrin orders Dannil to mobilize the Two Rivers men, the Mayeners and the Ghealdanin to go after Faile. (WH,Ch6)
Jondyn Barran A Two Rivers man. He is the best hunter in the Two Rivers, but otherwise he is a loafer. He is a grizzled old man. Perrin sends Jondyn Barran, Hu Marwin and Get Ayliah to track down some of the people who fled from Malden to get information about the city and the Shaido. (CoT,Ch8) They get enough information to draw Perrin a good map of the city. (CoT,Ch25)
Jori Congar A Two Rivers man. He is a fine hunter but will drink too much if given a chance. He is skinny even though he eats enough for two. He is also lightfingered when he sees something small. Kenly Maerin, Jori Congar and Ban Crawe ignore Perrin as he walks through the Two Rivers camp. (CoT,Ch5)
Jur Grady A Dedicated Asha'man. His wife is Sora Grady, whom he bonded. They have a young son. He is a stocky dark-eyed man six or seven years older than Rand. After Elyas returns with news of the Shaido, Grady makes a gateway so Perrin can inspect their camp. While there, he is astounded by the huge flows of saidar to the north. (CoT,Ch8)
Kenly Maerin A Two Rivers man. He is short and stocky, a very young man but he fights well. Kenly Maerin, Jori Congar and Ban Crawe ignore Perrin as he walks through the Two Rivers camp. (CoT,Ch5)
Lem al'Dai A Two Rivers man. He likes to fight with his fists. He is horse-faced and has a gap in his teeth. Perrin orders Dannil to mobilize the Two Rivers men, the Mayeners and the Ghealdanin to go after Faile. (WH,Ch6)
Marline An Aiel Wise One. She has deep purple eyes and nearly black hair. Marline tells Perrin that ransom is against Aiel customs, but the Shaido have broken so many already that they might agree. Marline and Annoura accompany Perrin to view the Shaido camp. Marline reports that there are way too many Wise Ones who can channel. (CoT,Ch8)
Nevarin An Aiel Wise One. She has green eyes and fair-hair. She is tall, skinny and looks barely older than Perrin. She has green eyes and is bone-thin with long sandy yellow hair. Carelle, Marline and Nevarin look on with approval as Masuri inspects the Darkhound tracks. Annoura, Masuri, Carelle, Marline and Nevarin huddle together when Masema arrives. (CoT,Ch7)
Perrin Aybara, aka Sei'car, Young Bull A friend of Mat and Rand's. A ta'veren. He is from Emond's Field. He was an apprentice blacksmith to Haral Luhhan. He grew up on his family's farm east of Emond's Field. He is half a head shorter than Rand and stocky with thick arms and shoulders. He has curly brown hair. His eyes were dark brown before becoming a Wolfbrother. He is about 6'1" or 6'2" and about 235 to 240 pounds. Perrin and the others return from So Habor to their camp where they find Masema as well as Shaido prisoners being tortured. The Maidens say it could take days. Perrin cannot wait; he chops off one of the men’s hands, then threatens to turn them all into quadriplegics. In the woods, he talks with Elyas about his feeling when he uses the axe. Elyas assures him it is just excitement, but Perrin still throws away his axe. Balwer brings news of Tallanvor and the Seanchan. Perrin agrees to meet with them. (CoT,Ch27)
Rad A Two Rivers man. Perrin orders Dannil to mobilize the Two Rivers men, the Mayeners and the Ghealdanin to go after Faile. (WH,Ch6)
Wil al'Seen A young man from Deven Ride. He is a ladies' man. He is good looking, with big eyes. He is good looking, a year older than Perrin. The Two Rivers men accompany Perrin back to the camp. (CoT,Ch27)
Sulin A Maiden of the Spear. She is wiry and white haired. She has blue eyes. She is wiry, scarred and leathery with white hair. When Perrin returns from So Habor, Dannil, Sulin and Edarra report that the Maidens captured five Shaido Stone Dogs. (CoT,Ch27)
Tell Lewin A man from the Two Rivers. He is lanky and looks like his uncle Flann Lewin. Perrin orders Dannil to mobilize the Two Rivers men, the Mayeners and the Ghealdanin to go after Faile. (WH,Ch6)
Tod al'Caar A young Two Rivers man. He is lanky and has a lantern jaw. He is a year younger than Perrin is. The Two Rivers men accompany Perrin back to the camp. (CoT,Ch27)


Berelain and her entourage:

Although Cadsuane and her allies have no loyalty to Rand or his purpose, he allows them to help him in his quest anyway. He realizes that he cannot trust them, however.

Annoura Larisen An Aes Sedai of the Gray Ajah, advisor to Berelain. She has a broad face, wide mouth, beak of a nose, Taraboner accent, and braided hair. She has dark hair. Annoura accompanies Perrin and Berelain when they return from So Habor. They watch the questioning of the Shaido captives. (CoT,Ch27)
Berelain sur Paendrag of House Paeron The First of Mayene and High Seat of House Paeron. She wears the Diadem of the First, a golden hawk in flight. She is young and very beautiful. She is tall and pale with black hair and large, dark eyes. Perrin, Berelain, Gallenne and the others return from So Habor to their camp. (CoT,Ch27)
Gendar A thief-catcher from Mayene. He is nondescript. Berelain sends Gendar and Santes on a mission to spy on Masema. They steal a letter of protection from Suroth from his private desk. She sends them out again, but they do not return. (CoT,Ch6)
Lord Captain Bertain Gallenne Lord Captain of Mayene's Winged Guard. He is loyal, but not too smart. He only thinks of the attack, when he thinks at all. He has shoulder-length gray hair. He wears his black eyepatch as another man might a plume in his hat. Perrin, Berelain, Gallenne and the others return from So Habor to their camp. (CoT,Ch27)
Lord Lieutenant Havien Nurelle He is a Lord Lieutenant of the Mayene Winged Guards in service to Berelain. He is pink-cheeked and slender and a head shorter than Rand. He is about the same age as Perrin. After the kidnapping, Nurelle returns to Berelain with news that her scouts were killed. (WH,Ch5)
Nana A servant to Berelain. She is not pretty. She is stout and dark-eyed. Berelain and her maid look on while Masuri inspects the Darkhound tracks. (CoT,Ch7)
Ortis A Squadsman in the Mayener Winged Guards. Ortis and his squad capture seven Dragonsworn murdering a farmer and his family and bring them to Perrin's camp. (TPoD,Ch10)
Rosene A servant to Berelain. She is not pretty. She is stout and dark-eyed. Berelain and her maid look on while Masuri inspects the Darkhound tracks. (CoT,Ch7)

Cha Faile:

These Aes Sedai have sworn fealty to Rand. Not all of them truly mean to honor that vow, however. Because of that, and the fact that some of them kidnapped him and tortured him mercilessly, he tries his best to avoid them.

Camaille Nolaisen A Cairhienin woman, a member of the society who mimic the Aiel. She is a member of Cha Faile. Camaille attends a Cha Faile meeting with Faile. (TPoD, Ch8)
Carlon A young Tairen noble. He is also Cha Faile. He has a long nose and a narrow chin. Selande leads Carlon, Medore Damara and others of Cha Faile to confront Perrin. He told them they cannot have their horses; if they want to play at Aiel then they have to run like the Aiel. He gives them their horses in exchange for their agreeing to obey him until Faile is found. (WH,Ch6)
Haviar A young Tairen man who is a member of Cha Faile. Haviar and Nerion work as eyes-and-ears in Masema's camp. They report back to Selande that Masema is sending riders to Amadicia and that Masuri and Annoura have been meeting with him. (CoT,Ch5) Perrin worries that Gendar and Santes know that Haviar and Nerion are Cha Faile spies. That would make it risky to assign Medore or other Cha Faile to spy on Berelain and Annoura. (CoT,Ch6)
Latian A young Cairhienin man who is a member of Cha Faile. He is pale, not tall, with a sharp nose. Balwer’s friend is out of town for the day, so he, Latian and Medore stay behind in So Habor when Perrin and the others return to camp. Four days later they return bringing Tallanvor with them. (CoT,Ch27)
Lady Medore of House Damara A young Tairen noble, daughter of High Lord Astoril. She is also Cha Faile. She is tall and pretty with a dark face and bright blue eyes. Balwer’s friend is out of town for the day, so he, Latian and Medore stay behind in So Habor when Perrin and the others return to camp. Four days later they return bringing Tallanvor with them. Nerion A young Cairhienin man who is a member of Cha Faile. Haviar and Nerion work as eyes-and-ears in Masema's camp. They report back to Selande that Masema is sending riders to Amadicia and that Masuri and Annoura have been meeting with him. (CoT,Ch5)
Selande Darengil A Cairhienin woman, leader of the society who mimic the Aiel and leader of Cha Faile. She is very pretty with a pale face. She is very short. Balwer brings Selande to report to Perrin. She reports what her spies learned of Masema’s activities. (CoT,Ch5)


Morgase's Party:

These are the Warders to the Aes Sedai who accompany Rand. The Asha'man who are at his location are included here because their loyalty now lies with the Aes Sedai rather than with Rand. Should their bonds be broken, this may change.

Basel Gill The innkeeper of The Queen's Blessing in Caemlyn. He is fat and pink-faced with graying hair combed back over his bald spot. He has a sharp eye and a ready, pleasant smile. Breane, Lamgwin, Basel Gill and Lini stay with the Two Rivers contingent in Perrin’s camp. (CoT,Ch5)
Lady Breane of House Taborwin A Cairhienin noblewoman who is unmarried. She is older than Alaine Chuliandred and Belevaere Osiellin but just as pretty. She is short and pretty, approaching her middle years. She is pale with dark eyes. Breane, Lamgwin, Basel Gill and Lini stay with the Two Rivers contingent in Perrin’s camp. (CoT,Ch5)
Lamgwin Dorn Hired muscle for Basel Gill. His voice sounds like gravel in a pan. He is hulking with heavy-lidded eyes, an oft-broken nose and scars on his face. Before he heads for So Habor, Lamgwin barbers Perrin so he looks presentable. (CoT,Ch25)
Lini Eltring She has been a nurse to Morgase and Elayne. She looks frail, but her back is straight, her voice is clear and steady and her dark eyes are sharp. She has a narrow face with parchment thin skin and wears her white hair in a bun. She is reed-thin and wears her gray hair in a bun. Breane, Lamgwin, Basel Gill and Lini stay with the Two Rivers contingent in Perrin’s camp. (CoT,Ch5)
Guardsman-Lieutenant Martyn Tallanvor A Guardsman-Lieutenant of Andor's Queen's Guard. He is young and has dark eyes. After separating from Perrin’s forces, Tallanvor attempts to track Maighdin, but the Shaido move too fast for him to follow. He makes contact with an army of Taraboners loyal to the Seanchan, winds up in So Habor, and accompanies Balwer back to Perrin’s camp to report. (CoT,Ch27)
Sebbab Balwer Secretary to Pedron Niall. In fact, he is the head spy for the Whitecloaks. He is from Amadicia. He is narrow and pinched with knobby shoulders and a disapproving mouth. He is a small, nervous, bird-like man with a pinched face. Balwer’s friend is out of town for the day, so he, Latian and Medore stay behind in So Habor when Perrin and the others return to camp. Four days later they return bringing Tallanvor with them. (CoT,Ch27)


Ghealdan representatives:

Kireyin A Ghealdanin officer under Captain Gerard Arganda. He is tall and lean with a haughty gaze. He has a nasal, bored voice. When the others return to the camp, Kireyin stays behind to supervise the winnowing of the grain. (CoT,Ch27)


Aes Sedai & their Warders:

When Rand sent Perrin on the mission to get Masema, he sent a couple of the Aes Sedai who swore fealty to him. I am listing them, and their Warders, here rather than under the 'Perrin's allies' section. Why? Because Aes Sedai can not be trusted...ever.

Masuri Sokawa An Aes Sedai of the Brown Ajah. She is associated with the Salidar Aes Sedai. Her Warder is Rovair Kirklin. She is from Arafel. She is an expert on Darkhounds. She is slim and merry-eyed. She is slender. She is pretty without being beautiful. She has dark eyes. Masuri and Seonid want to stay at So Habor with their Warders but Perrin forces them to return with him. They watch the questioning of the Shaido captives. (CoT,Ch27)
Rovair Kirklin He is Warder to Masuri Sokawa. He is compact with dark receding hair. Masuri and Seonid want to stay at So Habor with their Warders but Perrin forces them to return with him. They watch the questioning of the Shaido captives. (CoT,Ch27)
Seonid Traighan An Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah. She is associated with the Salidar Aes Sedai. Her Warders are Furen Alharra and Teryl Wynter. She is Cairhienin. She is cool and reserved. She is pale and short with dark hair. Masuri and Seonid want to stay at So Habor with their Warders but Perrin forces them to return with him. They watch the questioning of the Shaido captives. When Perrin hacks off the Stone Dog’s hand, Seonid Heals the stump. (CoT,Ch27)
Teryl Wynter He is Warder to Seonid Traighan. He is Murandian. He is young with dark reddish hair, curled mustaches and blue eyes. He is tall, lean and hard. Masuri and Seonid want to stay at So Habor with their Warders but Perrin forces them to return with him. They watch the questioning of the Shaido captives. (CoT,Ch27)


Masema and his followers:

Perrin convinced Masema and several of his followers to accompany him back to Cairhien to see Rand. Though he claims to be loyal to Rand, Masema seems to have his own agenda and cannot be trusted.

Chaena A Shienaran soldier. Bartu, Chaena, Nangu and Nengar are among the Shienarans with Masema in Samara. (TFoH,Ch38)
Hari A thug who works for the Prophet in Ghealdan. He is narrow-eyed with a thrusting nose. Hari accompanies Masema to Perrin’s camp and helps torture the Shaido prisoners. (CoT,Ch27)
Masema Dagar, aka Prophet A Shienaran warrior, self-proclaimed Prophet of the Dragon. He has deep-set almost black eyes. He has shaved his topknot. He has a pale triangular scar on one cheek. He is dark and scowling with deep-set eyes. He has a shaven head and a pale triangular scar on one cheek. He is average size. Masema does not take out So Habor himself because the town is surrounded by an impenetrable wall. (CoT,Ch26) When the Maidens bring in Shaido prisoners, Hari tortures one while Aram, Arganda and Masema watch. Even Masema is shocked when Perrin cuts off the Shaido’s hand. (CoT,Ch27)
